For this project we used a plastic toy camera.

Our inspiration for the project was randomly picked

words out of the dictionary and an altas. We took these

words and made them into a sentence. That is where the

title "Flat and Shiny Objects Dislocate Rainy River" came from.

Old Film - Work In Progress

This is an old box of film that I am exploring to see if I can develope. The film is all C-22 process which they quit using in 1972.

I enjoy exploring the characteristics and relationships of other people, who are both strangers and loved ones. I find it most interesting when I can collaborate with others to determine how I will create a photograph. This process allows others who do not usually take part in such activities to get involved and participate in making art.
This series titled “How Are People” deals directly with a time in the individuals’ life that they are currently experiencing. It also includes strong mental states and emotions that they have at this point in their life. I explored these ideas by asking each individual what was going on in their life and what a dominate emotion or mental state was that they had at that point in time that they would like to over come. After getting their answers, together we came up with what material we could use to hide who they are on the outside while portraying who they really are on the inside. When choosing the items used in the portraits we purposely chose items that were disposable. This is to symbolize that the situations and current negative emotions are able to be over come. This series is intended to show the viewers that people are more complex than they may be able to tell. Regardless of what the situation is you are able to overcome the obstacle and mold yourself into the person you really want to be.
